Magic the Gathering Card Game

What's a good strategy to make a 5 color deck for Magic: The Gathering?

Right now i have a bulk set of red creatures and green spells. I still have plenty of cards for the other colors. I thinking this deck will be 60-65 cards.

  1. If you are going to make a 5 color deck, try to make a sliver deck. And yes, I know slivers can be cheap and you draw aggro in a multiplayer match but they can also be fun.
  2. Mostly you need green mana search to find your mana so make it a mostly green deck. You should try to make a 5 color sliver deck because that's the only deck that's worth having all five colors in. You could make a 5 color weenie deck with Coalition Victory as the winning card. Just need scion of the ur dragon or transguild courier in play and all five colors. There are a few other ways to make a 5 color deck so i leave it up to you to decide. 3. 5 colour decks.... one word sums them up, hard. here r som tipe to help u achive 5 colour perfection. 1. first decide wat 5 colour deck its gonna be, slivers? spirits? nephalim? dragons? 2. find good cards that fit the deck type your trying to achieve, that range from cheap to expensive (mana cost) 3. make sure u have some mana fix, like cards that help your mana because mana in a 5 colour deck is always a problem (the cards u add in this tip shouldnt be lands) 4. lay out wat your adding to the deck and make sure u have a good number of 1,2 and 3 mana things and a few expensive things. finally decide your happy with the cards in your deck. 5. time for mana, this is always hard. look at the number of cards in your deck of each colour, and how many cards in your deck require more then one of one mana type. like RR, or even worse RRR. after this u need to decide a good number of lands for each colour. add some duel lands (expensive or budget) and other lands that create different mana. 6. playetest your deck. see wat cards work and wat cards dont. fix your mana, if it is f**ked up and u keep getting mana screwed swap around some lands. 7. search for more cards to make your deck better and start slaying people ;)
  4. Unfortunately it's type 1 and made mostly from a block people hated but a Sunburst deck from mirrodin worked quite well for me,fist of the suns is a great card, make any spell cost one of each mana, the bringers were good too,But for type 2 a sliver deck is the way to go.All these new slivers in the time sprial block scare me.
  5. First, stick to 60 cards as much as possible. 61 is ok, I would not go past 62 though. Concentrate the deck to 2 colors (3 at the absolute most) and just splash in the other 2 or 3 colors. Trying to even out the cards by color will dilute the deck and make it inefficient. Make sure you have mana proportionate to the amount of cards of each color. If you have 12 red cards but only 5 white, you'll obviously need more lands that make red mana instead of white mana. Definitely get, or borrow, dual lands. These are priceless in multi-color decks. Don't add 5-color cards just because they look cool, stick to the deck theme. Don't try to copy someone else's deck. Come up with an idea or two and see how people made decks that fit your idea/theme. Make your own deck and add your own flavor to it.
  6. if your deck is going to be based on a fantastic 5 deck.....then keep in mind of the mana. Dont get mana screwed. Play with lands that can produce more than one color. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MANA! You dont want your first hand to be green/white spells with blue and red lands...know what i mean?
  7. My personal favorite: Type I with Battle of Wits, A ton of counterspells, Green land draw and mana search, Direct damage, Pacifists, Walls, Walls, Walls, Demonic tutor, anything that can animate walls to attack, and enchantments like Fire Whip that can deal the player damage from the wall during a battle phase in which they are blocking. It's suprisingly effective and fun to build but won't win any serious Type I tourneys. Have fun.
  8. any multicolor decks are hard, let alone a 5 color deck. I'd think twice before trying to make one thats really good unless you are prepared to get stomped at first.
