- Okay, she's a Planeswalker. The number on the bottom right corner is her "Loyalty Counter" count. She comes into play with that many counters. In order to remove or add more Loyalty Counters, you must use her abilities. Each each is either a Plus or a Minus (Activated) Ability. The cost to use each ability it the number next to the +/- sign, and you add/subtract that many Loyalty Counters from her. When a Planeswalker is dealt damage, it results in taking that many counters from it. If a player is going to attack you, he or she must declare if theyre attacking you, or your planeswalker. If damage would be dealt to an opponent, you can redirect the damage to a planeswalker they control. You can only use one of her abilities once per turn, and only anytime you can cast a Sorcery.
- what dax said and if you dont understand how the ability works then i geuss you cant read
- This is indeed a Planeswalker, which is a relative new permanent type. They are not creatures, since they lack the "creature-something" under the art. They act as an ally that helps you. You cast a Planeswalker just like any other spell. When it comes into play/the battlefield, you put as many "Loyalty" counters on it = the no. in the bottom right corner. Dax is right about how the abilities work. Since Planeswalkers are not creatures, you can use an ability right after it comes into the battlefield. You simply add or subtract that many loyalty counters when you could play a sorcery on your turn, then get the effect when it resolves. Nissa is nice because she can get Nissa's Chosen out, a 2/3 green elf that goes back into your library after it dies. Or, gain 2 life for every elf under your control, just by adding a counter to her. Dax, you are almost right. Remember how you attack a player? Well, if that player has a Planeswalker out, you can choose to send any number of creatures to the Planeswalker or to the defending player. That player can still block any creature with his creatures, but unblocked creatures attacking a Planeswalker will remove loyalty counters when damage is dealt equal to their power. You can also redirect non-combat damage from an opponent to their Planeswalker. Also, Planeswalkers have a legendary subtype, which means if two Nissa Revanes are in play, or an Ajani Goldmane and Ajani Vengeant, both go to their controller's graveyards.
