Magic the Gathering Card Game

Is Pokemon card game significantly easier than Magic the Gathering?

I'm trying to teach an 8 year old who is totally obsessesed with card games Magic the Gathering, and some of the game concepts are a little difficult for her, like first strike, and protection and the game phases. My question is this: is Pokemon significantly easier? She is dying to play a fantasy card game but Magic is just too hard (instants, interrupts, upkeep, etc...)

1. yes, little kids play pokemon and 40 year old guys in dark basements play magic. Well, actually lots of kids play magic but its more for people above the age of 11 at least. Pokemon is a kid's card game that an 8 year old could probably learn fairly easily. Yugi-oh is another game that is directed toward kids that she could learn.
2. Pokemon is made by he same dudes as magic, its actually a simplified magic, for kids.

4. number one pokemon& magic gatherings r way played out. so is digimon. but to answer your question pokemon. becuz all u do is pull the strongest pokemon.
