What to purchase to play Magic the Gathering Card Game? I'd like to start playing magic the gathering. I've already been looking at theme decks and into packs and booster packs and a fat pack. What colors are the best to start off with? So far I like the nature's fury and the blue and the white and the red. Black kinda scares me. So what's the minimum I need to purchase to start? Also, where can I find people to play with?
Is Pokemon card game significantly easier than Magic the Gathering? I'm trying to teach an 8 year old who is totally obsessesed with card games Magic the Gathering, and some of the game concepts are a little difficult for her, like first strike, and protection and the game phases. My question is this: is Pokemon significantly easier? She is dying to play a fantasy card game but Magic is just too hard (instants, interrupts, upkeep, etc...)
What is a good green / white premade deck for Magic the Gathering: Card Game? Hello, I have already posted up a few questions about which deck I should choose. I'm looking for a deck that has Green/White as equal, not as one of the colors makes up the majority of the deck. Right now, I'm considering the Shadowmoor Theme Deck: Turnabout. It has green/white cards and I want to ask if it is a good deck and also if there is any better deck you could recommend (must be green/white). Thanks!
magic the gathering card game rules help plzzzzz? me and my friends were playing magic. we were wondering if a creature attacked once, and became untapped by a creatures ability,"tap:untap target creature" could the untapped creature attack again. thanks!
Which card is this from Magic the Gathering: Card Game? There is one card that my friend played against my brother and my brother told me about it later. He said it is a white card that makes the top 13 cards of a target player's library go to the graveyard. Can someone tell me which card this is? Thanks!
In Magic: The Gathering card game; what exactly is a "target card"? I know that some cards have "target card" abilities. Like "target card gains flying." That's not what I mean. The card is called: "Put Away" from the PLANESWALKERS set. The card states: "Counter target spell. You may shuffle up to one target card from your graveyard into your library." Does "target" card mean ANY card you target? Or does it mean any card that has the ability to target other cards? Also can I count "Put Away" which I JUST used as the card to shuffle into library?
magic the gathering card game artifact cards? when a creature has an artifact card attached to it and then is destroyed in combat does the artifact card also get destroyed??? My partner wanted to learn and i started out just playing so that he have someone to practise on now i love it.
Magic the gathering card game? I am new to the card game and everything online seems to be a little confusing. Can anyone just give me a simple version of it?
Magic: The Gathering card game question regarding sacrifices/destroy abilities? Say two people are playing Magic: the Gathering card game. One player has the card Aura Shards, and the description on the card says "Whenever a creature comes into play under your control, you may destroy target artifact or enchantment." The other player had Fires of Yavimaya, and the description says "Creatures you control have haste. (They may attack and (tap) the turn they come under your control.) Sacrifice Fires of Yavimaya: Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn." My question is if the player with Aura Shards puts out a creature, then uses Aura Shards ability to destroy Fires of Yavimaya, is the opponent allowed to Sacrifice, when the card has just been destroyed by Aura Shards on the same turn? Because technically speaking, Aura Shards has destroyed that card, so how is that card able to sacrifice itself, when it has just been destroyed?
What are some of the flaws with Magic the Gathering card game? I am currently working on creating a card game similar to Magic the Gathering. In my effort to create a competitive game with MTG I want to iron out some of the flaws that people find with MTG. For instance I have heard that MTG has become less of a strategic card game and more of a race to see whose combo can go off first. I have also heard some people say that Higher level players (PTQ winners) shouldn't be allowed to enter tournaments with low level players who are still new to the game. Can you think of any other flaws or changes you'd like to see in MTG or any fantasy based strategic card game? For what it's worth I've already came up with solutions for the examples I gave above. I'm not looking for solutions. I just want to hear what you think are the problems.
Magic the Gathering Card Game Special +1/+1 Abilities? In Magic the Gathering Card Game, I have a basic 1/1 card that can be given a +1/+1. The instructions seem vague. They say to get the +1/+1 you spend x Black Mana, x Life. With a 'Coma' between the two. Does this mean you need to pay both x Black Mana and x Life? Or is it an option to pay either x Black Mana or x Life? And if it is the case that you need to pay both the x Black Mana and the x Life, then why doesn't it clearly state the word 'and'? Example: This Creature gets a +1/+1 when x Black mana and x Life are paid.
Magic The Gathering Card Game? Do people still buy magic cards?? I have a bunch of them i wish to sell. Where would i sell them? I have alot of foils, rares, plainswalkers, legendary's, ect. Any information on where to sell them would be nice...thanks
Starting out in Magic: The Gathering card game? I've only just watched a couple of videos on 'how to play' on YouTube and read the rulebook. I don't actually own any of the cards... So, to people who already play the game, what's the general rundown? Should I start collecting and playing? Which stores sell the cards in Australia? I live in Brisbane...Someone suggested I go to a store in Sydney...That's kind of out of my way.
A question regarding card game Magic the Gathering: Phantom card explanation? I am not a hardcore Magic card player by any means, but I do like to play with my friends occasionally. My friend uses a seemingly overpowered phantom deck, and I am skeptical to believe that the abuse of phantoms is this powerful ( because they would have been banned by now). The most significant problem with his deck is not the phantoms alone, but the enchant creature cards he equips them with. For example, my friend will put out a Phantom Tiger (a 1/0) that comes into play with two +1/+1 counters on it (Making it a 3/2). I understand that for all damage dealt to a phantom, the damage is prevented and a counter is taken off and this process is repeated until their defense number goes to 0. However, what my friend will do is put Enchant creature cards like Elephant Guide (giving a creature +3/+3) which would make Phantom Tiger a 6/5. My friend tells me to treat the enchant creature effects as an additional +1/+1 counters. So, in other words, phantom tiger needs to take damage 5 times until it is sent to the graveyard. He also puts cards like Armadillo Cloak on the phantoms to make matters even worse, now giving him easy life and trample. Ultimately, this does not seem fair or logical to me whatsoever. My question is basically this: Are we misunderstanding the concept of phantoms or can the cards actually get to such a powerful state? What I believe is this: the enchant creatures don't count as additional +1/+1 counters for the phantom. So, in the case of a Phantom Tiger equipped with Elephant Guide, after his 2 counters are removed, he goes down to 4/3 and is treated as a normal creature that can take damege. I am not sure about this, though. Here are some links of the creatures he would use: http://www.coolstuffinc.com/images/Products/mtg%20art/Judgment/Phantom%20Tiger.jpg http://mi.wizards.com/global/images/magic/general/phantom_centaur.jpg As well as commonly used Enchant Creature Cards: http://www.cardkingdom.com/images/Judgment/ElephantGuide.jpg http://wowbox.tw/mtg/images/largejpg/23xxx/23164.jpg I apologize for the lengthy question. I just like to be as specefic as possible so people understand what exactly it is that I am talking about. Thanks in advance. Yeah, thanks guys. I had a feeling that my belief was right. Please note that my friend was the one that told me that the enchant creature effects serve as additional +1/+1 counters. I tried to convince him that they did not, but he didn't believe me, so we just played by his criteria. Thanks to everybody who took time to answer my question. It is much appreciated and I will have an easier time taking down phantoms in the future lol.

Two questions about Magic: The gathering trading card game? First question: I play a card that gives +1/+1 to any green creature, and gives +1/+1 to any red creature. The creatures I have out in play though are considered green/red hybrids. So do they gain +2/+2 or +1/+1 Second question: Can I have more then one enchantment on any given creature at the same time?
Does anyone know the card game "Magic the Gathering" ? I was just wondering if anyone did know it and if they could tell me the name of one card that started with "hidden" it was like "hidden content" or something like that but I forgot it. Anyways any help is appreciated.

Trample and Magic The Gathering Trading Card Game? My wife attacked me with a 12/12 tonight, in response I blocked it with 6 2/2 creatures. The 12/12 didn't have trample but yet everyone says my 6 2/2 creatures all died instead of just one because I chose to block with all of them. I haven't played Magic in a while, so is this a true statement as of the new rules or would it have to have trample to kill all 6 2/2 creatures?
Pyroclasm from Magic The Gathering card game. Does it deal 2 damage to ALL creatures, including my own? Pyroclasm 1any 1mountain Sorcery -Pyroclasm deals 2 damage to each creature. Does this mean it's to all including mine, or just all others? Also...What about Earthquake? Earthquake Xany 1mountain Sorcery -Earthquake deals X damage to eac creature without flying and each player. Again... does this damage me as well? Same with Volcanic Fallout, "Volcanic Fallout deals 2 damage to each creature and each player" I assume that does damage myself. Another one (before I'm done), for Convincing Mirage, does it consume a land and change it, or does it act as it's own land card? "Enchant Land As Convincing Mirage enters the battlefield, choose a basic land type. Enchanted land is the chosen type." Thank you in advance to anyone who's able to help and successfully give me a correct/coherent answer!!

I have a question about the card "Spirit Loop" in the card game Magic The Gathering.? I recently purchased a Sliver Deck from a hobby shop near my home and came across a question I couldn't exactly find a clear answer for in the MTG (Magic The Gathering) Comprehensive Rulebook PDF. I have an Enchantment Aura called "Spirit Loop", which states, "Enchant Creature You Control; Whenever Enchanted Creature Deals Damage, You Gain That Much Life. When Spirit Loop Is Put Into A Graveyard From Play, Return Spirit Loop To It's Owner's Hand". So my question is, if I enchant one of my creatures (Let's say a 5/5) with "Spirit Loop" and attack a 2/2 creature (Assuming the 5/5 and the 2/2 can meet in combat) would I still gain 5 life even though the creature that blocked my 5/5 was a 2/2? Thank you in advance for your help. :o)
In the card game Magic: The Gathering what do i do about summoning creatures into play?? I've just bought a themed deck of 75 cards, i've read the rules online from the website and have a basic understanding of the game and how it's played. One thing that still puzzles me is how and what do i do about summoning creatures into play, do i sacrafice? pay mana? just throw 'em down? Please help me, thanks ! Also, how do i know the cost of mana to cast or activate certain abilites of creatures, does the cost at the top right of the card apply to all abilites shown on the card??
Is there an online game similar to Magic The Gathering Card Game? I like to play Magic, but there's not a lot of people around here that play it. I want to know if there is an online game similar to it. I know at one point in time there was one, but you had to pay for each card, pointless, and a waste of money for only virtual cards.
How can I improve my blue/red Counter/Burn deck for the card game Magic: The Gathering? >17< Lands 3 Cloudpost 7 Mountain 7 Island >14< Counter/Return Cards 1 Disrupt 2 Capsize 1 Distorting Wake 1 Annul 1 Rethink 3 Thoughtbind 3 Cancel 1 Mana Leak 1 Jolt >12< Burn Cards 2 Volcanic Hammer 1 Form of the Dragon 4 Shock 2 Arc Blade 2 Blaze 1 Rod of Ruin >11< Creatures 1 Spiketail Hatchling 2 Archivist 1 Hoverguard Sweepers 1 Tephraderm 1 Akroma, Angel of Fury 1 Avatar of Fury 4 Daring Apprentice >5< Artifacts 1 Sensei's Diving Top 1 Belbe's Armor 1 Ur-Golem's Eye 2 Mana Cylix >1< Other 1 Peer Through Depths Focus: the deck counters the biggens and burns off the weaklings, till I get to play one of my flyers and finishing them. I am planning on putting in Counterspells, Force of Wills, (maybe more Mana Leaks), Counterbores, Mirari, and scrapping most of the countering creatures. The deck I know personally needs some work, but if I could get some advice on any other cards, lemme know. I play casually with friends, so no side deck
Is Progenitus Ban from magic the grathing card game? Is Progenitus ban from magic the gathering card game? This is what it is: Name: Progenitus Game Text: (unleashed 9/27/2007) protection from everything if progenitus would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, reveal progenitus and shuffle it into its owner's library instead. Color: Gold Casting Cost: 2 of each mana color (10 mana total) Card Type: Legendary Creature - Hydra Avatar Power / Toughness: 10 / 10 If not ban, it should be. Because Indestructible are cheap, but Protection for everying is very dumb. I had that played against me and I died or lost the game very fast. You can't counter it or do anything to get rid of it. Its a god card. If I see again I'm getting up and leaving the game, because basically they already own the game and cannot be stop at all. They only way you can win is have card that say to skip players turn and to damage to the player who cast Progenitus in game. Well I've looking for skip player turn cards and having no luck yet. Alos I've been looking for all bans cards list so I know what not to use in tournaments.
